🌿 Why get an artificial ficus lyrata? 🌿

Plante artificielle, ficus lyrata (figuier lyre), Fiddle fig leaf artificial potted plant, indoor, décoration d'intérieur

The ficus lyrata (lyre fig) is a popular houseplant, but it can be considered a bit difficult to care for some. (Many, in fact) It's a rather finicky plant if you ask me! Here are a few reasons why the ficus lyrata may be considered difficult to care for:

  1. Light Requirements: Ficus lyrata requires bright, indirect light to thrive. If the plant doesn't receive enough light, it may lose leaves or fail to produce new leaves. However, if it receives too much direct light, it may burn.

  2. Humidity Requirements: Ficus lyrata requires high humidity to thrive. It is important to mist the leaves regularly or place the plant near a humidifier to maintain adequate humidity.

  3. Watering: Ficus lyrata can be sensitive to over- or under-irrigation. It is important not to overwater the plant or allow it to dry out completely between waterings. Standing water in the pot can also cause root rot problems.

  4. Diseases and Pests: Ficus lyrata can be susceptible to certain diseases and pests, such as mealybugs and red spider mites.

If you're willing to put in the time and effort, the live ficus lyrata can be a beautiful houseplant. However, you'll need to limit yourself to locations that offer sufficient light and humidity. This means that this type of live plant isn't suitable for every room in your home, unlike the artificial lyre fig tree, which you can even place in a location without natural light.

In short, if you're like me and love peace of mind, I highly recommend getting one of ours, we currently have two models available (Orla or Lyra). They're maintenance-free, effortless, and evergreen!
